Description

Pinino Rosso di Montalcino

An elegant and harmonious expression of Sangiovese, with plenty of ripe raspberry and cherry fruit framing the full and velvety texture, through to a long, spicy finish.

The Pinino winery is based in the picturesque town of Montalcino in Tuscany and has a long winemaking history, dating back to 1874. Since 1950, Pinino has been inscribed in the Brunello register of winemakers, and in 2003, Spaniard Max Hernandez and Austrian Andrea Gamon pursued their passion for producing quality wines and purchased the estate. For Max – whose father had been a winemaker in Toro – it also signified an adventure leading him back to his family’s roots. Together they have invested in the estate, they quadrupled the cultivation area to 16 hectares with the addition of the Canchi vineyard and transformed the estate, producing world-class wines. The vineyards are cultivated sustainably, following the Agriqualita standards. This family-run winery produces award-winning wines with incredible structure, elegance and great longevity. The Pinino Rosso di Montalcino being their entry level wine, produced from younger vines and aged up to 9 months in Slovenian Oak barrels.
