Description

Chief Winemaker Glenn Goodall believes that true quality begins in the vineyard and that winemaking is all about respecting the fruit – purely guiding the wines through to the bottle rather than ‘beating them into submission’. Sharing the vision of the winery with owners the Rathbone family, there is an uncompromising focus on quality from the vineyard to the finished product. The Reserve label is the pinnacle of the quality Xanadu produces which is always first class and rated 5 stars by James Halliday.

Only the most outstanding parcels of fruit are selected for the Reserve Cabernet with a 16 months oak maturation. It is a marriage of Cabernet, Petit Verdot and Malbec, the wine has great depth and intensity with aromas of cassis, plum, dark chocolate and cinnamon. The wine is dense and well structured, layered with dark fleshy fruit characteristics, ripe tannins and a warm lingering finish.
