Ripasso, the middle ground between Valpolicella Classico and Amarone. Ripasso is produced by using the left over dried grape skins which are used for producing Amarone, the big dry raisin flavoured dry reds with strong tannic like flavours which can age gracefully for several years. These dried grape skins used in the making of Ripasso adds a more complex depth of flavour, spices and leather notes to a usually fruity light style red wine.
Tommasi Ripasso is richly spiced with notes of black pepper and hints of raisins. Very full bodied, intense, spicy with sweet cherry flavours.
