Description

Chateau de Fleurie Jean Loron

This Fleurie wine  is deep ruby colour with purple hints. Intense and complex nose. Obvious notes of blackcurrants and blackberries, progressively complemented by liquorice and black chocolate. The mouth is rich and well balanced with silky tannins and a remarkable persistance.

The famous La Madone hill has panoramic views over the Fleurie appellation, with a backdrop of a chain of summits.  Fleurie is only produced in the village that bears its name.

For Chateau de Fleurie, several parcels are in the lieux-dits of Les Rochaux, Point du Jour, La Madone and Le Bourg (a stones thrown from the Chateau)  All in sand over granite.

The lovely 18th century chateau in the centre of the village,  belongs to the direct descendents of Jean Loron: Barbet and Roclore family.  The 9 hectares of vines are located mainly in the village of Fleurie.  Under the winery, the vaulted cellar holds an impressive stock of oak vat where the entire production is matured
